The Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority is expecting flows in area rivers and streams to be high thanks to a system that could bring up to 60 mm of rain by Friday.
As well, strong winds combined with high lake levels will increase wave heights along Georgian Bay. The winds are expected to be strongest Thursday night through Friday morning.
The NVCA is advising people and especially children to stay away from all watercourses.
Flooding may occur in low lying areas, however no major flooding is anticipated.
