Driver charged following NYE RIDE check in Gravenhurst

Following a RIDE check in Gravenhurst, one driver entered 2026 with three charges, including a couple related to impaired driving.

On December 31, at 1:20 p.m., Bracebridge OPP conducting a RIDE program on South Kahshe Lake Road entered an impaired driving investigation of a 49-year-old man, which led to an arrest.

The man, from Severn Bridge, was charged with impaired operation, driving while under suspension, and driving a vehicle with cannabis readily available.

He will appear in court in Bracebridge on January 20.

The Bracebridge Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has charged another driver with impaired driving at a RIDE program.

"Police will make every effort to locate the involved vehicle and conduct an investigation, many times, these investigations result in charges and removing impaired drivers from Muskoka roads," Bracebridge OPP said in a news release.
