An Innisfil resident has been charged with two counts of obstruction of justice after several victims of human trafficking, and witnesses were contacted.
South Simcoe Police allege the accused attempted to influence victims and witnesses of Project Chameleon, an ongoing human trafficking investigation.

Police say the attempt to influence a victim was reported to police and occurred after the accused’s brother had been unable to obtain bail. The second charge relates to the accused agreeing to pay another victim money to become a surety for the man.
Police believe there could be additional witnesses and victims who were contacted.

Project Chameleon is an ongoing human trafficking investigation that was initiated by the South Simcoe Police Service in May of 2023. This investigation has resulted in the arrest of seven people who have been charged with human trafficking offenses, offenses relating to sexual services, and drug offenses.
