Fifty-eight charges have been laid against two Barrie residents - weapons and drug offences among them.
OPP were called early Thursday about a driver slumped over the steering wheel of a running vehicle near Ridge Road West and Black Forest Lane in Oro Medonte.
Police say when an officer opened the door to check on the driver the man became combative and shifted the vehicle into reverse, striking the officer, and then a police cruiser.

During their investigation, police seized a 9mm handgun, ammunition, a quantity of drugs, and nearly $4,000 in Canadian currency.
One of the accused, aged 33, is facing 32 criminal charges including Assault Police with a Weapon, Resist a Peace Officer, Flight from Police, Fraud, and Drug Possession.
The second accused, also 33, has been charged with Possession of Stolen Property, Drug Possession, Obstructing Police, and more.
