Kawartha Lakes OPP say three are dead, including a Barrie man, while two others are injured after a major crash in Omemee on Saturday.
Around 6 p.m., emergency crews were sent to the intersection of Highway 7 and New Heights Road where there was a collision involving a passenger vehicle and four motorcycles.
As a result of the collision, the driver of the passenger vehicle, an 18-year-old man from Peterborough, and one of the motorcyclists, a 72-year-old man from Dunchurch, were pronounced deceased at the scene.
A second motorcyclist, a 65-year-old man from Barrie, was airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre with serious injuries, where he was later pronounced deceased.
Two male riders from Sudbury, a 36-year-old and a 30-year-old, suffered injuries from the crash. The older of the two was treated and released at the scene while the younger was initially brought to a local hospital before being transferred to a Toronto-area trauma centre.
Police say members of the OPP Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
