OPP confirm death of a man in Adjala-Tosorontio was a homicide

Police say public assistance is needed to identify those responsible

Nottawasaga OPP say the death of a man at a large rural property west of Tottenham last summer is being treated as a homicide.

On Sept. 8, 2021, around 9 a.m., police located the body of 60-year-old Gordon Banks of Adjala Tosorontio outside a home on Concession 3 north of Highway 9.

In an update to their investigation, OPP said on Thursday that they found evidence indicating there was a physical confrontation prior to the death of the victim.

Police say public assistance is needed to identify those responsible.

Investigators believe there is no concern for public safety.

The OPP wants to hear from members of the public to help establish a timeline of the victim’s activities in the days leading up to his death. Anyone with information or knew the victim, Gordon BANKS, on a personal level that could assist police with his habits, hobbies and activities is asked to contact the Nottawasaga OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or Crime Stoppers anonymously at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or ontariocrimestoppers.ca.
