Four months after a deadly crash in Ramara Township that killed an elderly man, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged the driver of one of the vehicles involved.
OPP say they responded to a collision on June 11 involving two vehicles at Highway 12 and Concession 11 in Ramara Township. Police were told that one vehicle was in the ditch on fire and the other vehicle was still on the road with occupants trapped inside.
First responders were able to get everyone out of the vehicle. Two people were taken to a local hospital and another occupant was airlifted to a Toronto trauma centre with serious injuries.
On June 13, a 92-year-old Ramara Township man died of his injuries as a result of the collision.
Police have now charged a 32-year-old Orillia man with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death.
