The OPP helicopter took to the air after provincial police in Orillia received a call Saturday afternoon with concerns for the well-being of a man who was believed to be in the area.
Police found the man in his vehicle and when approached by officers he sped off.
Rather than give chase, the OPP helicopter was dispatched to help find the vehicle.
With the assistance of the chopper, the vehicle was located on Highway 400 and stopped by utilizing a spike belt and a rolling block to end the incident in a safe manner.
A 44 year old from Severn Township is up on several charges including impaired driving, flight from police and dangerous operation of motor vehicle.
