Officers responded to the scene, secured the area and began their investigation using eyewitness accounts and video surveillance footage from multiple local sources.
Early results from the OPP's investigation suggest that the incident was planned and coordinated. Assistance was provided by the OPP's Central Region Forensic Identification Services in order to collect and examine physical evidence.
The rest of the investigation will be carried out by the Collingwood OPP Crime Unit, which is pursuing all possible leads, including potential links to networked or regional criminal activity.
