OPP investigating early-morning pickup truck theft in Thornton

Nottawasaga OPP are investigating the theft of a vehicle from the driveway of a residence in Essa on the morning of November 27.

Near 3:30 a.m., police responded to the residence on North Ridge Road from where the vehicle was taken. Preliminary investigation indicates that the owner was inside the residence at the time of the alleged crime.

While no surveillance was found after officer canvassed the area, the complainant did report hearing a loud noise outside and saw the vehicle leaving the driveway around 3:00a.m. No suspect description or suspect vehicle was identified at this time.

The stolen vehicle is described as a black 2024 RAM 1500 pickup truck with tinted windows, black rims, and bearing Ontario licence plate BN56962. Its estimated value is approximately $70,000.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity in the area or who may possess relevant video surveillance footage to come forward as the investigation continues.
