OPP officer charged with assault following incident at Bracebridge amusement park

An Ontario Provincial Police officer with 21 years of service has been charged with assault following an incident at Santa's Village in Bracebridge.

On June 8, 2024, police responded to the park regarding a complaint of an assault involving a youth and an adult female, who left before officers arrived.

The 45-year-old officer was arrested on Sept. 4 and charged with assault.

Police say the officer was off duty when the incident allegedly happened and is currently off on unrelated leave.
