OPP officer nabbed for impaired in Tiny Township

Cop is currently in his first year of service

An Ontario Provincial Police officer in his first year of service has been charged with impaired driving after being pulled over on Concession Road 15 in Tiny Township.

Southern Georgian Bay OPP said they responded to a traffic complaint around 11:30 p.m. on Friday.

The officers located the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. The driver was arrested for impaired driving and taken to an OPP detachment where further breath tests were conducted.

His driver’s licence was suspended for three months and his vehicle impounded for seven days.

The officer who was charged is a 26-year-old from Elliot Lake and based at the East Algoma detachment.
