Police say during a traffic stop just before midnight on Wednesday in Orillia, they allegedly seized a machete-style knife.
According to Ontario Provincial Police, the driver was pulled over on Front Street because the vehicle did not stay in its lane. Police said they searched the vehicle and allegedly found drug paraphernalia and a 13.5-inch under the driver's seat.
A 33-year-old Oro-Medonte man was charged with impaired driving, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, and two counts of failing to comply with probation.
As a result of the charges, his driver's licence was suspended for 90 days, and his vehicle was impounded for seven days.
