Pet duck found in vehicle after suspected impaired driver stopped

A 47-year-old Collingwood woman faces impaired driving charges

OPP say they found a pet duck in a Collingwood woman's vehicle after they had stopped her for suspected impaired driving.

On Wednesday, around 8:00 p.m., Nottawasaga OPP received a call from the public about a suspected impaired driver.

OPP attended the area of Highway 27 and Innisfil Beach Road and arrested a 47-year-old woman.

She faces the following:

  • Operation while impaired - alcohol
  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)

Police say the pet duck was left safely in the care of family.

The accused was released with a court date in August.
