An OPP-led execution of a search warrant in Adjala-Tosorontio ended with the seizure of drug paraphernalia and an arrest.
The Nottawasaga Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), as well as officers from Dufferin CSCU, Caledon CSCU, Nottawasaga platoon officers, the Crime Reduction Unit (CRU), as well as the Tactical Response Unit (TRU) and Canine Unit, executed a search warrant on December 10 at a residence on Bayberry Drive.
It came after an investigation began in the fall after the alleged suspect was thought to be trafficking controlled substances in the areas of Simcoe and New Tecumseth.
At 5 a.m., the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant was executed at the address, and officers seized many items as a result.
Among the paraphernalia seized were two cellular phones, a money counter, four scales, $6,146 in Canadian currency, two debit cards not issued to the accused, and packaging that contained residual amounts of cocaine.
Eventually, a 26-year-old man from Adjala-Tosorontio was arrested and charged with the possession and trafficking of a Schedule I substance and possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000.
He is set to appear in court on January 22.
