Ontario Provincial Police have determined through an investigation and assistance from the public that an individual entered the water and safely left from the nearby point of entry on Sunday night.

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) closed the southbound lanes of Highway 400 for about one hour following a "concerning incident" in Port Severn.
At around 8:30 on Sunday night, police received a report of a male seen stepping off the northbound Highway 400 bridge.
"The individual was reported to be wearing a grey t-shirt, black pants, and running shoes," provincial police said in a news release.

Multiple OPP units launched a coordinated response that involved the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment Marine Unit, Aviation Services, Underwater Search and Recovery, both of OPP, as well as Georgian Bay Township Fire and Emergency Services and the Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre.
Search efforts continued well after dark, police said, with negative results, and will restart if investigators are provided with any new information.
"Anyone who may have been swimming in this area around the time frame is asked to contact the OPP and speak with investigators," police added. "We remain concerned for the well-being of the individual."
