Three men from the Greater Toronto Area have been charged and provincial police say they seized more than $32,000 in stolen merchandise after a car was pulled over on Highway 11 southbound between Line 14 and Line 13 in Oro-Medonte.
Around 8:20 p.m. Wednesday, Ontario Provincial Police were contacted by a Monarch Drive business in Orillia that three people were seen concealing electronic devices and that the same crew had been spotted by staff in the last month taking items from the store.
When store security approached the suspects, they fled in a car toward Highway 11.
Police located the vehicle south of Orillia and pulled it over.
They say the investigation also revealed that one of the suspects was on a release order from police in Montreal and Toronto for similar offences, the second man was wanted by Halton Police for similar charges, and Canada Border Security was contacted about the third suspect.
