Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a report of a suspicious man who approached a child in Stayner.
Police say they received a report on May 28, but the incident happened the previous day between 3:30 and 6 p.m. on Brock Street.
Investigators say an unknown man approached a child who was playing in their yard and started a conversation. During the interaction, the man allegedly invited the child to go to a park with him and told the child not to tell anyone about the request.
The suspect is described as a white male in his 40s, tall, with dark hair. He was reportedly wearing a ball cap and sunglasses.
Huronia West OPP is seeking the public's assistance. Anyone with information, or who may have witnessed the incident, or who has video or dash cam footage that could assist the investigation, is asked to contact 1-888-310-1122 and reference incident number E260730891.
