OPP say suspect charged in 'targeted assault' in Orillia

Ontario Provincial Police say they have arrested a suspect in connected with a 'targeted assault' in Orillia.

Around 4 p.m. on Thursday, police say they responded to a disturbance at 114 Davey Drive. When authorities got there, officers located a person inside their residence with serious injuries. The person was taken to a local hospital and later transferred to a trauma centre.

Police arrested a 51-year-old Orillia man on Friday and have charged him with aggravated assault.

He remains in custody pending a bail hearing.
