A traffic complaint from the public involving a motorcycle in the Grandview Road area of Port McNicoll has resulted in a long list of charges for the bike rider.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say they received the complaint just after 9 p.m. Wednesday and an officer located a "loud" motorcycle matching the description while it travelled southbound on William Street in Midland.
The motorcycle appeared to be travelling above the posted speed limit, police said. The officer followed the motorcycle at a safe distance as it continued east on Highway 12 into Tay Township.
The motorcycle was pulled over near Triple Bay Road. Following an investigation, a 34-year-old Tay Township man was charged with the following offences:
- Failure to comply with release order - other than to attend court
- Operation While Prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Red light - fail to stop
- Unnecessary noise
- Drive motor vehicle - improper licence
- Improper muffler - motor vehicle
- Drive motor vehicle, no plates
- Fail to surrender permit for motor vehicle
- Driving while under suspension
- Drive wrong way - divided highway
- Operate a motor vehicle without insurance
The accused is being held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
The motorcycle has been impounded for 45 days.
