The Orillia Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) would like to advise the public of police training exercises taking place at Orillia Secondary School on May 12 and 16, 2025, as well as June 2 and 16th at approximately 7:00 pm each day. These training exercises are in cooperation with Simcoe County District School Board (SCDSB).
Members of the public can expect to see an increased police presence during the early evening hours. Local officers along with Community Mobilization Unit (CMU) members will be participating in these training exercises. There is no public safety risk, however area residents are asked to maintain a safe distance should they encounter officers involved in the training exercise.
The SCDSB and OPP are committed to the safety of our communities. These training exercises help streamline police response within our schools, helping to ensure the safest environments possible for the children and families that not only attend these schools but live within the area.
