A rallying cry is coming from the Orillia and District Arts Council for artists and creatives to join in the National Arts Drive.
The City of Orillia has joined with @RAWArtistsCanada and other arts groups to support a National Arts Drive this Saturday, June 6 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. The City is calling on artists and creatives to join in the national movement, community experience, and fundraiser. Folks are asked to perform, showcase and display their creativity from wherever they can: front lawns, driveways, balconies, window sills, and stoops.
Doing so during the same three-hour period means you’re joining others across the country in this movement. Artists are encouraged to sign up through the National Arts Drive website, while those who wish to support local arts can make a donation through the same site. Funds raised will go towards the creative culture impacted by the global crisis.
“There are no fees to participate. No ticket sales necessary. This is simply artists and arts organizations, joining together to help each other,” according to a media release from the Orillia and District Arts Council.
