Orillia Car Dealership Employee Helps Get Identity Theft Charges Laid

Alberta Man Facing Charges

An Alberta man is facing fraud-related charges thanks to an Orillia car dealership employee.

The employee gave a call to Orillia OPP in late August over some suspicious dealings with a man from Alberta. Following investigation, a 66-year-old from McLennon, Alberta, was arrested and charged with three counts of Identity Theft, among others. Police say a credit card was fraudulently used in this case.

The Orillia OPP encourage businesses and citizens to report suspected fraud to police, and make use of online resources to help recognize fraud and stop it from happening. Visit the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre for more information.
