Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a man after they say he threatened staff at a downtown Orillia business.

Police say on Friday shortly after 2 p.m., a man entered the Mississaga Street East establishment and, according to Orillia OPP, threatened physical harm to three staff members.

"The male would flee the business prior to police arrival," OPP said in a release on Saturday morning. "However, after further investigation, police were able to locate a male fitting the description and placed him under arrest."

A 27-year-old from Orillia has been charged with:

  • Adult Uttering Threats - Cause death or Bodily Harm x 3
  • Adult Assault x 3

He was held in custody pending a bail hearing
