
Due to the current heat warning issued by Environment Canada, the City of Orillia will open air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use
June 30 to July 3, 2026. The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted however the Canada Day holiday will affect location opening and hours.
Cooling and hydration centres
Orillia Public Library
- Monday to Thursday: 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Canada Day: closed
- Friday: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Sunday: closed.
Orillia Recreation Centre
- Tuesday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Canada Day: 7 a.m. to 2 p.m.
- Thursday: 8 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Friday: 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Splash pads
Clayt French Park
- Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Victoria Park
- Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Hillcrest Park
- Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Walter Henry Park
- Open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Moose Beach at J.B. Tudhope Memorial Park
- Open 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Beaches
- Couchiching Beach is open with lifeguards on duty daily. Lifeguard hours have been extended to 6:00 p.m. (normally noon to 5:00 p.m.).
- Moose Beach is open with lifeguards on duty daily. Lifeguard hours have been extended to 6:00 p.m. (normally 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.).
