News release from the City of Orillia
Due to the heat warning in place, the City of Orillia is opening air-conditioned cooling and hydration centres for public use. The City encourages anyone – especially those susceptible to extreme heat – to make use of the centres. The cooling centres will remain open until the heat warning is lifted.
The following public places have been identified as cooling and hydration centres:

Lifeguards are off duty at Couchiching Beach Park due to a swim advisory in effect and swimmers are cautioned to swim at their own risk. Moose Beach remains open and is providing extended lifeguarding supervision from 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. Please visit orillia.ca/beaches for status updates on swim advisories.
