Orillia OPP: Missing boater found dead

The deceased has been identified as a 47-year-old Orillia man

Provincial police say a reported missing boater on Bass Lake in Oro-Medonte was located dead on Wednesday. 

On Friday, April 28, shortly before noon, Orillia OPP were contacted regarding a man who had gone fishing and didn't return home at a scheduled time.

The Orillia OPP Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, Underwater Search and Recovery Unit (USRU) and OPP Canine Unit assisted with search efforts.

On Wednesday, members of the USRU located the missing person deceased.

He's been identified as a 47-year-old Orillia man.
