Orillia OPP charge multiple drivers with stunt driving

There was an overnight spree of speed demons on Highways 11 and 400 in Oro-Medonte Township.

Orillia OPP say a 29-year-old man was charged with stunt driving after a vehicle was clocked at 153 km/h in a posted 90 km/h zone on northbound Highway 11. Also northbound on Highway 11, police pulled over a G2 driver and charged the 21-year old male motorist with stunt driving after their vehicle was spotted going 144 km/h in a posted 90-zone.

On Highway 400, a 19-year-old female was charged with stunt driving when their vehicle was observed by police travelling 189 km/h in a posted 100 km/h zone. Not to be outdone on Highway 400, a 17-year-old motorist was charged with stunt driving after their vehicle registered a 163 km/h speed in a posted 100 km/h zone.

The law also caught up with an 18-year-old man in Orillia that OPP say was pulled over in a traffic stop for failing to display two licence plates. During the investigation, police discovered the teenager was operating a vehicle without an ignition lock system, a condition place on the licence of the young man.
