Orillia OPP seeking public's help with suspicious death investigation

Provincial police are seeking public assistance about an ongoing suspicious death investigation in Orillia.

On Thursday around 11:30 p.m., Orillia OPP were called to an Andrew Street South residence where a man was found deceased.

"A postmortem examination to determine the cause of death has been scheduled at the Centre of Forensic Sciences (CFS) in Toronto, on December 17, 2023," OPP said in a release.

"The Orillia OPP Crime Unit is continuing the investigation under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), with assistance from the OPP Central Region Emergency Response Team (ERT) and OPP Forensic Identification Services (FIS), and in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner for Ontario (OCCO) and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service (OFPS)."
