Six people charged in series of drug raids in Orillia

Suspects are from Orillia and the GTA

Ontario Provincial Police executed three search warrants on residences in Orillia and charged six people with drug-related offences.

OPP say shortly before midnight on Tuesday, search warrants were carried out on three different residences on Elgin Street. As result, police say they seized cocaine and Canadian currency.

Three Orillia residents and one person from Etobicoke face trafficking charges, while one person from Scarborough and an Orillia resident have been charged with trafficking and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

The suspects are scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 5.
