(VIDEO) Oro-Medonte youths awarded for a Halloween act of kindness

Orillia OPP: Act of Kindness Award

Two Oro-Medonte youths made sure there were only treats last Halloween and no tricks.

Orillia OPP received a video showing Kolton and McKayla Ruyter filling a candy basket at a house with their own Halloween treats after noticing it was almost empty - ensuring there would be some for other trick-or-treaters.

In an email to Barrie 360, Orillia OPP said "this selfless act of kindness demonstrated the character of these youths and aligned with our OPP motto: 'Always doing the right things for the right reasons.'”

OPP met with the two and their mother on Tuesday and presented them with a certificate of appreciation.
