Oro-Medonte residents have a chance to show some community spirit ahead of this weekend’s Hometown Hockey festival.
Locals are urged to don their favourite sports jersey or cap and share images on social media using the hashtag #OroMedonteHometownHockey on Friday.
“On behalf of the Township, I personally encourage Oro-Medonte residents and business owners to show your hockey team spirit by participating in Jersey and Cap Day on Friday, November 5,” said Oro-Medonte Mayor Harry Hughes.
The Rogers Hometown Hockey festival is a free township-wide event offering interactive hockey-related experiences like augmented reality presentations, live entertainment, an NHL alumni meet-and-greet, and more. The festival runs from Saturday, November 6 to Sunday, November 7, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
A live on-site broadcast with Ron MacLean and Tara Slone is expected on Monday, November 8 at 6 p.m., ahead of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ game against the Los Angeles Kings.
