Paddleboarders need life jackets, too
Pair without facing charges
A pair of paddleboarders without approved life jackets were among those charged with water-related offences during weekend checks by OPP along the Tiny and Georgian Bay Township shorelines
A personal watercraft operator was also tagged for not having a spotter while towing a skier.
And a guy in a pedal boat was charged with having open liquor aboard.
OPP marine officers remind all vessel operators that whether you’re operating a big boat or a little pedal boat, everyone aboard needs to have a lifejacket.
In all, officers checked 42 vessels and operators for proper vessel equipment and sobriety while patrolling the waters and responded to 9 calls for marine-related service from the public.
