Pair charged with trafficking after police pull over car in Orillia Monday night

Vehicle pulled over as offers were performing speed enforcement in the area

Police pulled over a vehicle for speeding in Orillia the other day and ended up cuffing both the vehicle’s occupants.

Officers with Orillia detachment had the radar gun out along Atherley Road around 10:00 Monday evening when it is said a vehicle approached at a high rate of speed. The vehicle was pulled over and police began digging deeper into the two occupants.

Police say the interaction with the two led to the seizure of cocaine and some Canadian currency. A 37-year-old Rama First Nation man is facing charges including trafficking and probation violation, with a 30-year-old woman from Orillia will answer to similar charges along with one of obstructing police.

Both will appear in Orillia court in late June.
