Pair facing drug charges after police say a vehicle lingered too long at a Bracebridge intersection

Two Bracebridge men facing charges

An early morning call to police has resulted in drug-related charges for the occupants of a vehicle said to have lingered too long.

Bracebridge OPP got the call at around 2:30 a.m. Thursday from a member of the public who was concerned that a vehicle was stopped at an intersection near Balls Drive in Bracebridge. Officers arrived and found the vehicle in a parking lot, at which time they say it sped off.

Police were able to track down the suspect vehicle to Manitoba Street and arrested the driver. A 35-year-old Bracebridge man faces charges including operation while impaired by drugs and possession of an opioid. The vehicle’s passenger, a 36-year-old, also hailing from Bracebridge, was charged with drug trafficking and possession of stolen property.
