News release - City of Barrie
Support local downtown Barrie businesses this holiday season and enjoy free parking in all on-street spaces throughout December. Standard parking fees apply in municipal lots and the Collier Street Parkade.
Downtown on-street parking is limited to a two-hour maximum year-round. All downtown parking options are free after 5 p.m. Monday to Friday, all day on weekends, and on statutory holidays. Visit DowntownBarrie.ca for a directory of downtown Barrie stores, restaurants, services and entertainment venues. The 2023 Noella Festival is also happening until December 17 in downtown Barrie.
Residents and visitors are reminded that on-street parking is not permitted on city streets from 12:01 to 7 a.m., and 3 to 6 a.m. within the Downtown Business Improvement Area, from December 1 through to March 31. This ensures that the streets can be completely cleared and that emergency vehicles can get down the street. Overnight parking is also not permitted during this time period, December 1 to March 31, in any hybrid parking lots or waterfront parking areas (lots and on-street) from 12:01 to 5 a.m.
