PC MPP Suspended Indefinitely Over Dismissive Comments Made

Unknown if MPP Directed Comments to Parents or NDP

Randy Hillier has been suspended from the PC caucus indefinitely, following disrespectful comments made, seemingly towards parents of children with autism.

Hillier is accused of saying “yadda, yadda, yadda” while exiting the Ontario Legislature this morning, as dozens of parents at Queen’s Park aired their concerns over the recent changes to the Ontario Autism Program.

Premier Doug Ford issued a statement shortly afterwards. “I want to listen to every parent, and every family member who wants to share their stories and their asks,” said Ford, “but Mr. Hillier’s comments crossed the line and that is unacceptable.”

Several reporters who witnessed the exchange say it is unclear whether the comments were directed towards parents or NDP MPPs. Hillier was in the process of leaving a tense Question Period at Queen’s Park, dominated by the PC government’s move to alter the Ontario Autism Program.
