Pedestrian struck, injured in Barrie collision

Barrie police say a pedestrian was transported to hospital following a collision.

Communications coordinator Peter Leon told Barrie 360 that emergency services were called around 7 p.m. Thursday about a multi-vehicle collision which occurred at the intersection of Wellington Street East and Peel Street.

The traffic unit is investigating.

Police said there will be an update Friday morning.

This is the fourth motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian that police have investigated in the past 24-hours.

In one of the incidents, police say a 15-year-old was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram pickup truck on Bayfield Street north of Livingstone Street.

The driver did not stop.

The teen was taken to hospital for treatment of minor abrasions and lower body injuries.
