Pedestrian dies after being struck by a vehicle in Barrie

Barrie police say a 41-year-old man has died in hospital after being struck by a vehicle on Thursday night.

Emergency crews were called to Georgian Drive, west of Gallie Court, at around 11:44 p.m. for a reports of collision involving a pedestrian.

The man, who was from Barrie, was transported to the hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to Barrie police communications coordinator Peter Leon.

He said the driver remained on scene.

The investigation continues.

Police are asking witnesses or anyone with dashcam video to contact them.
