Barrie police did a search of Sunnidale Park after they responded around 10:20 Thursday morning to a report of a man who allegedly committed an indecent act in front of a woman.
The sprawling park is located in the city's north end on Sunnidale Road.
"The female victim in this incident was walking in the northeast section of the park near the arboretum when a male, who was walking in the opposite direction stopped as he got closer to her. The male began to perform an indecent act while the victim continued to walk away and contacted police," according to a news release from Barrie police.
Officers searched the pathways, embankment and a wooded area but were unable to locate the man.
The suspect is described as male white, early 20s, 5’7”, light coloured hair, and was wearing a dark jacket and track pants.
"Police are not aware of any other incidents occurring in this park and believe this is an isolated incident.
