A number of pets perish in Lefroy house fire

Damage not including contents is at least $500,000 following a house fire in Lefroy.

Innsifil fire crews were called to the Corner Avenue residence around 10:30 Sunday morning.

Flames were seen shooting through the roof.

"No civilian or firefighter injuries," according to Fire Chief Brent Thomas. "At least seven pets perished in the home."

Cause of the fire at the one-storey residence is undetermined, though Thomas tells Barrie 360 the blaze is not considered suspicious.
