Pickup truck driver charged after collision with ambulance struck on Hwy 400 near IBR

The driver of a pickup truck is in custody and charged with impaired driving, according to provincial police, after a collision with an ambulance on Friday afternoon on Highway 400 southbound south of Innisfil Beach Road.

In a social media post, provincial police said that according to witnesses, the vehicle was being driven erratically before colliding with the ambulance.

The two paramedics in the ambulance, which was from Muskoka, were not injured.

Two southbound lanes of the highway remain blocked.
