The potential for tragedy was all there on Highway 11, just north of the Highway 400 split on Tuesday.

Just after 2 p.m., Ontario Provincial Police responded to a collision in the southbound lanes where a pickup truck slammed into an MTO truck that was stationary with workers in the area. There were no injuries.

As a result of an investigation by officers, a 35-year-old man from Etobicoke was charged with impaired driving.

He has a court date next month.
