Once you head inside the busy kitchen at Barrie's new Grillicious Tap and Grill you quickly realize that Chef Josie is passionate. She proudly shows off her jars. The jar of bright orange kimchi, the jar of deep purple cranberries, the fresh dressings. They are all proudly made in-house.
Chef Josie talks about using local foods, but not in a pretentious braggy kind-of-way, it's more of a "why wouldn't you?" This is all taking place as she tops an elk sausage, from nearby Coldwater, with homemade cranberries and greens.
Josie and husband Jason ran the popular Grillicious food truck in Gravenhurst before relocating to Barrie's waterfront. Jason says they still have people visiting on their way up to Muskoka. "A lot of our customers are repeat, and that's very important to us. We are passionate people."
Grillicious Tap and Grill has an incredible beer and cocktail menu, a massive patio that overlooks Kempenfelt Bay, live music and a menu that literally has something for everyone.
