(UPDATE) Cause of plane crash into farmers field still a mystery, say OPP

UPDATE: Ontario Provincial Police say they don't know why the pilot of a plane made an emergency landing into a farmers field east of Edenvale on Monday afternoon.

Police say when the plane landed it caught fire but the pilot, who was the lone occupant, escaped unharmed

Ontario Provincial Police say the lone occupant of plane that crashed in a field just east of the Edenvale Aerodrome on Monday afternoon was not injured.

Police tweeted a picture of the plane, which went down in the area of Highway 26 between Strongville Road and Richardson Road.

No other details have been released.
