
A 12-year-old boy who allegedly hit a police officer with a stolen vehicle and was shot at by police before he fled the scene has been charged with attempted murder.
Police say the boy faces other charges including vehicle theft, failure to stop for police and assaulting a police officer.
Ontario's police watchdog says the boy remains in hospital while the officer has been released after they were both sent there to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The Special Investigations Unit says the nature of the boy's injuries is not yet clear.
Police say officers responded to a vehicle theft call near O'Connor Drive and Donlands Avenue around 1 a.m.
They say an officer was hit by a vehicle after police tried to stop the driver and then shot at the vehicle.
