Smash-up derby in Bradford as South Simcoe Police investigate collision

A mess of a collision in Bradford is under investigation by South Simcoe Police (SSP).

“On Monday, October 9, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., officers responded to a collision on Holland Street West and Church Street where a blue BMW struck a hydro pole, a fire hydrant, and crashed into multiple parked cars,” SSP said in a news release on Tuesday.

When officers got to the scene, the two occupants of the car were outside the vehicle.

“The 18-year-old woman and 19-year-old man, both from Newmarket, were subsequently transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries,” police added.

Holland Street was closed in both directions for four hours while crews dealt with downed wires and the damaged pole and fire hydrant.

Police have not laid any charges and the investigation is ongoing.
