A driver who allegedly failed to stop for a stop sign made matters worse when South Simcoe Police say he ignored warnings to pull over, which prompted officers to launch a pursuit.

This began around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday as police were conducting stop sign enforcement at Canal Road and Simcoe Road in Bradford.

They spotted a vehicle that failed to stop at the stop sign, so officers tried to get the driver to pull over, but the motorist kept going. After two more attempts, police initiated a pursuit. A few minutes later, other units were called and police were able to stop the vehicle.

A 20-year-old from Bradford has been charged with disobeying a stop sign, failing to stop for police, and failing to surrender their driver's licence.
