Police collar computer theft suspect accused of posing as Bradford high school student

Early morning unwanted person call led to 21-year-old man's arrest

A young man from Maple is facing charges, after someone posed as a student to swipe some equipment from a Bradford high school.

Around 10:30 Monday morning, South Simcoe Police got the call to Bradford District High School with reports of a theft. Police were told a suspect entered the school about an hour prior, and when school staff approached the man, they were told he was a new registrant, which the school was expecting. Police say he then went into a classroom and stole some computer equipment before fleeing the scene.

Police were called to a home in Bradford around 12:30 Tuesday morning with reports of an unwanted person. Police took a man into custody and say he was connected to the theft of school equipment on Monday morning. Officers seized a number of items and charged a 21-year-old man with theft and possession of stolen property.
