Updated April 4, 2024 @ 2:41pm

Barrie police say they responded to a report of an "incident involving a weapon" Thursday morning, which closed a section of Dunlop Street.

Pictures from the scene showed numerous police vehicles.

The centre of attention appeared to be a building above a restaurant in the area of Dunlop Street West and Toronto Street.

Dunlop was closed between Toronto and Mary Street, then reopened around 9 a.m.

"The investigation remains ongoing, is isolated in nature and further details will be provided as the investigation permits," Barrie police wrote in a post on X.
