Police ID teen who drowned in Muskoka River as 18-year-old from Mississauga
Teen went underwater and never resurfaced at around 7 p.m. Saturday
Provincial police have identified the teen who drowned in the Muskoka River over the weekend.
First responders were called to the south branch of the Muskoka River at around 7 p.m. Saturday with reports of a swimmer in distress. An 18-year-old man failed to resurface after going under, prompting a search that was called off when night set in.
The search resumed first thing Sunday morning, and the teen’s body was recovered at around 9 a.m.
Police have identified the victim as Noel Caoile of Mississauga.
